Looks interesting and……….a little spooky…………
this one was gentle to make (some of them are fierce and demanding in process), that harsh very hot afternoon light on the door makes it look hard edged & thoughts of Halloween are in the air!
An amulet fit for the ravens that nest in the tall firs surrounding my house! very powerful.
Thanks Heather, I’m looking forward to seeing quite a gathering of these amulets for the Crow Show in September next year!!
Ooh it looks like my comment yesterday didn’t work! This is so strong Mo. I was wondering if you might tell what the combined scent of the filling is like? Sounds richly scented
the perfume is strong whilst rolling the fragments of leaves and petals into the silk but subtle once it’s bound inside the leather & the internet is a mysterious place, my posts on other blogs were disappearing wherever I went yesterday & didn’t matter what platform…
The shadows seem like a fitting yet ironic adjunct to the amulet. The strong delineation of the sun on a piece that speaks of night and mystery….
& isn’t it funny how ravens and crows are diurnal… here’s a favorite quote from “Crow” by Boria Sax (p30) Reaktion Books 2003
“Crows are the most ubiquitous of birds, yet, without being the least bit exotic, they manage to remain mysterious.”
Perfectly photographed Mo, full of mystery and magic and beauty.
