Anne Dybka taught me glass engraving in her studio in The Rocks from 1987 – 1989, she was an inspiring teacher, passionate environmentalist and very good friend. Jeffrey Hamilton and Rod (aka Old Man Crow) recorded her story in 2006 she passed away in 2007

One Blue Thing !

Here’s some of the Blue Things gathered from around the house…
trying to decide on just one blue thing to take along for Roz Hawker and India Flint’s Bower Bird Blues Workshop this weekend. Roz and India sent a note back in October asking us to bring along our favourite tools for writing, drawing & stitching, a camera, a coffee mug, a hat
&
“your own very special blue item (only one now), just one blue item about which you may wish to share a story …”
Only One?
The Blues run like a deep river through my life…. how can I possibly choose just one?
Blue Triangles… Blue Cats… Blue Moons… Blue Books… Blue Talismans…. Out of the Blue…
this is the sort of dilemma I enjoy!

Real Magic from Kathy Dorfer
Posted: April 2, 2014 by Mo Crow in It's Crow TimeTags: crows, glass, Kathy Dorfer, magic
a parcel just arrived on the doorstep from Kathy Dorfer – amazing painter of the spirit crow named Alala,
cloth conjuror, glass bead artist, bookbinder, photographer and magic crow woman
who I met through the circle over at Jude Hill’s Spirit Cloth
when I made the goat/crow eye amulet in February Kathy mentioned she loves making eye beads so I asked if she could make me a crow eye bead
& she did! inside lay 4 crow eye beads in a range of sizes + lots of glass feathers & beautiful blue beads to play with
(in an amazing bit of synchronicity Heidi Kummli’s book “The Spirit of Bead Embroidery) arrived at the same time !)
such treasures!
moved the beads over to my bench
and this crow feather fitted perfectly into the first crow eye bead I picked up
thank you Kathy, you make real magic!
