Old Man Crow and I are both crook as Rookwood (a cemetery in Sydney)
these photos are of a magical gathering of crows at Waverley Cemetery  back in 2006
a fantastic view from the clifftops
love the way the crows seemed to pose just for us
totemic beings
x fingers we’ll start feeling better soon!
NB feeling crook is Aussie slang for feeling sick with a dreadful lurgy
& can also mean getting a scolding as in “my Mum went crook at me” which totally confounded me in a grammar test when I first went to school in Melbourne back in 1969 (nearly 50 years ago!)

the good news is the framer did a great job framing Beauty
for All is [not] Black & White at Artsite
but I was way too out of it at the opening on Sunday to get any decent photos
this beautiful thank you card and clay scrolls mounted on a piece of Silky Oak
just arrived in the mail from Fiona Dempster of Paper Ponderings
with such good timing my beautiful friend!

See you at the opening on Sunday!

around the headland into Gordon’s Bay
to a magic cave
but it has changed!
the sandstone ledge that sheltered this magic spot sheared off
Randwick City Council cut the sandstone from the collapsed ledge to build the pillars
Old Man Crow & I have held many solstice ceremonies here to thank the spirits of place …
Crow Feather Giveaway for my magic friend Chester‘s 70th

Carolyn Skinner of Oz Arts Magazine wrote a glowing article about our Crow Book!
now what was it that Dickens said ?… ah thank you Google
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
isn’t it funny (as in odd rather than hilarious) how this is the saddest week of my whole life and the most exciting all at the same time!
On Monday Madeleine of Artsite Gallery sold “Honesty” in ” The GPS has no idea where I am going”
x fingers Dark Moon with Ladder sells too!
the show continues til the 23rd

PS we are missing Ariel so much but all the heartfelt good vibes from around the world are helping heaps

“All of us are in the gutter
Some of us are looking at the stars.”
The Pretenders Message of Love (1981) (quoting Oscar Wilde)

Jude Hill is taking our circle of cloth conjurors from all around the world on a journey with her exploration of SunMoonStars, diving ever deeper, making magic real…

spring-cleanthis tatty old veneer table which fits so perfectly under the window was getting horribly grubby, the at least 40 year old sealer was getting gross so I spent a few hours this morning scraping and sanding then whacked a coat of paint on it, much brighter!
Just killing time ’til we go up to the gallery at 4 to pull down the rest of the Crow Show.
Enjoying Jude Hill considering ideas, catching them on the fly with her astute observations as they move through her and watching how they flow…
that got me thinking about my favourite old moon
