I loved taking this journey through the Zodiac 26 years ago, still fascinated by astrology and mythic magic listening to On the Soul’s Terms podcasts
bushwalking is the best soul food

The Long Cloth of Grief and Wonder continues

house painting in process

the next door neighbour is a handyman, carpenter, house painter, jack of all trades and all ’round good guy who had a few days spare up his sleeves just before xmas to paint the house, studio and laundry a pale blueish green named Spruce Grove & the window frames in a Dark Velvet Green gloss enamel that wasn’t quite right… so I am very slowly and messily painting them an Elegant Evenings tealish blue which I like a lot better!

The New Moon is in Scorpio, one of my favourite drawings for the Celestial Times Zodiac Series back in 1999, time flies!
The garden here at Dunmovin is growing with wild abandon, with new flowers appearing every day

this new Anigozanthos hybrid “Masquerade” glows like a jewel in the garden

love the contrasting colours of this bearded iris

Nigella aka Love in the Mist or Devil in the Bush, it has self sown throughout the garden, a plant that never really thrived in Sydney, it loves the mountain air!

The Waratahs are spectacular this year!

It’s Spring ! This blue anemone just opened to celebrate, the sun is out and the bush is calling!

Rake enjoying the apricity

a dusting of snow at grey dawn on Saturday, it melted as soon as the sun came up

Ever since my 20’s I have dreamed of making lace at 80… decided to get an early start!

Slowly learning the stitches and how to read the patterns

Finished the little triangle shape this morning & although there are still wonky bits am starting to understand what I am trying to do!

filled with Mugwort, Lemon Verbena, Lavender, Rosemary, White Sage, Sweet Bay and Rose Petals

the autumn colour was spectacular this year & the light!

have been busily digging, mulching and planting out the new garden bed in front of the back shed creating a x-roads where I moved the chiminea that has never been fired up since I moved here nearly 2 years ago, placed an old saucer on the top for a bird bath.

a garden is a spell we cast within the world

Margie Sampson’s Sun Bather (with cat) 2023 aka the Pink Goddess with Purple Cat will nestle in the new bed soon sans the lime green plinth to be twined with vines and flowers

I love this mountain life!

a bushwalk in the Blue Mountains
with Cathy and Old Man Crow
loved this fissure in the weathered stone
dry woodland on the ridge
tiny blue flowers of Wahlenbergia gracilis aka Australian bluebell
(PS this ID is an educated guess as there were frilly edges on the petals
Old Man Crow is dubious)
one day we will move to the mountains and go bushwalking every day!
