Old Man Crow found a recording he made in 2004 of another song that our friend Chris Clarke wrote, sang and played. At the time they were playing in a trio called CPR with Pete Cox. In this recording: – Chris sings the melody and plays acoustic guitar. – Pete sings harmony in the chorus and plays acoustic guitar. – Rod sings harmony in the verse and chorus and plays electric guitar.

Well, at least their music is alright……………….
(((Martine))) love Chris’s voice, it’s such a joyful song!
Thats what i meant Mo, voices and music……………
“They were built out of music,
And so not built at all,
And therefore built forever.”
from “The Critic as Artist: with some remarks on the importance of doing nothing” by Oscar Wilde
Well when I saw the title of this post, I thought that Rod had successfully had his knee surgery and that all was going well for him as he recovered…so in advance, I send this hope along with healing wishes:
Soothing, mellow music here, voices blend so well. Feels like a balm that settles over me as I let go of the tension leading up to the correct verdict of the George Floyd trial yesterday…music can comfort, can give hope, can give pause to reflect, can quietly make you rise up and dance and other times, well, you just leap and go for it…these lyrics I especially loved; hope I wrote them down correclty: “sometimes I feel like a starry sky, planets on the moon dancing in my eyes..”
(((Marti))) Rod’s knee surgery is scheduled for May 10th and he is so ready, the furthest he can walk is up to the pub & back!
the magic of music & just for the record that lovely line is;
“sometimes I can feel like a star in the sky
with planets, suns and moons dancing in my eyes”
well this was just perfect for how I feel today
(((Jude))) such a beautiful couple of weeks listening to Rod carefully polishing this recording
What a lovely tune to wake up to today! Well done!
(((Nancy))) it’s such a joyful tune, looking through the box of old photos it was quite a shock to see how old we’ve grown since 1989 when I took this photo of Chris!
Nice song to transition to a quiet afternoon with. I especially loved the guitar in the beginning.
(((Dee))) Chris is such a gentle soul
Lovely! Thank you!

Thanks for listening!
MC – what a happy discovery – memories flow with and from the music. B
(((Barry))) we miss Chris and his beautiful voice so much! He moved up the coast soon after this recording was made & we haven’t seen him since, he and Rod played together for over 30 years here in Sydney!
