MC – certainly a strong and fierce statement right there. B
(((Barry))) as Clarissa Pinkola Estés said in her “Letter to a Young Activist During Troubled Times” all those years ago;
“… One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires … causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these — to be fierce and to show mercy toward others, both — are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.”
This glows!
(((Nancy))) we all need to shine as strongly as we can in these strange dark days
this is so beyond Perfect, Mo….a tactile visual of both P E’s words and the work
Acey is entering. Just incredibly Fine
(((Grace))) this is a detail of a medicine stick I made for the dream of the blue cat back in 2004
thank you Mo for shining so brightly and consistently – stay safe
(((Susi))) may sanity prevail
I copied and printed the Pinkola Estes quote to pin in my studio. It is powerfully inspiring, galvanizing. The tooth on your medicine stick, for me, embodies the ferocity you speak of. Wow.
(((Dee))) it’s an echidna spine, the echidna hunkers down, spines out in times of trouble, then when the coast is clear moves on…
there’s a section of backbone on the back of the stick for this chakra
here’s a link to the Letter To A Young Activist During Troubled Times in full
what a wonderful tonic as I venture out of empathic overload from insurrection yellow-ness! Have been patiently re-building a passageway to my own ferocity. wonder what will come of it. Always love all the wonderful layers of symbolism in your work. and have gained so much comfort to think of your neighbor’s kitty in the Circle of Bast…
(((Acey))) shine on!
Such Power
(((Hazel))) we all have to shine as bright as we can in these dark days for our beautiful broken world
