My beloved 50 year old Raleigh fell apart late last year so I have been dreaming of a brand new electric bicycle for months. On Thursday I booked some test rides & fell in love with this freedom machine, the Lekker Jordaan+. The great team set it all up ready to ride within an hour & wearing the biggest grin I rode back to to Central Station to catch the train home to Blackheath.
It’s a dream of a bike to ride & so sturdy! One of the many fabulous features is a walk button so when the track gets too rough or steep I can just hop off & it self propels at a gentle pace.
Rode to the end of Hat Hill Road and did a bit of exploring yesterday morning, the 12 km ride felt effortless but my legs are feeling quite stretched this morning.
Having wheels opens up exploring more of the bush walking trails around Blackheath, this photo is near the top of the Centennial Glen walking track
very brave people climb these cliffs with special shoes and ropes!
the track gets quite wild in places!
On Monday Cathy & I found the Ikara Head track where the pink flannel flowers grew after the 2019-20 bushfires, love this surreal panorama shot!
I just can’t get over how spectacular the landscape is. Congrats on the new wheels!
(((Dee))) it’s one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world!
Oh Mo! So fabulous! I’m imagining you in grand places with the wind in your hair!
(((Glennis))) have Old Man Crow’s song Take a Ride on high rotation!
Cool wheels Mo!
(((Jude))) I’m in love with a machine!
Brilliant Mo,
Glad you have electric…. makes those hills easyas. I also love my walk button🤗
Did you get a combo lock? Unfortunately e-bikes are stolen daily in NZ & they are hard to insure @ value.
Vistas look amazing…. PINK!!! flannel flowers how gorgeous
lovelove d
(((Debbie))) I bought a combo lock that clamps the back wheel so it’s immobilzed and can be chained to a post! Last century when a girlfriend was visiting Amsterdam she bought a fabulous Dutch bike to take home to London, within hours it was stolen when she was buying flowers on the way back to the hotel! It will take awhile for me to relax enough to leave it chained up anywhere for long… the pink flannel flowers are very rare, they only bloom after severe busfires followed by lots of rain, the last time they were seen was in the 50’s!
ooh! that looks like a cracking set of wheels! Once in a while, I think of my old bike. But doing Central Park in NYC 10 years ago probably cured me! So pleased you can still take to the hills, Mo. xx
(((Di))) she’s such a beauty!
Please come for a cuppa or lunch Mo – train to W/Falls then cycle to my place in Lawson View Parade. Phone 4757 4001
(((Carolynne))) look forward to catching up but the bike is very heavy, Blackheath station is getting a lift soon which will make it a lot easier. Is there a lift at Wentworth Falls station?
Wow – what a fabulous machine, it will make such a difference! It looks very stylish as well, and the landscapes and vistas it opens up for you – hurray!
(((Fiona))) it’s a dream machine!
Cool and what a landscape you live in 🙂
(((Valerianna))) becoming a Blackheathen is a long time dream come true, exploring this wild place will keep me happy for the rest of my days!
Gosh Mo…this is so fabulous, all of it…the bike, the views, the extended opportunities…wonderful!
(((Nancy))) Getting all settled into being a Blackheathen, loving the bushwalking, volunteering at the community farm on Sundays ( a fun relaxed crew with the added bonus of a basket of fresh vegetables to take home each week) and feeling at home here in the house and studio at last. For the first six weeks I felt like I was living in one of those fancy Home Beautiful magazines but I turned the corner with the Full Moon on Tuesday.
Gorgeous bike Mo…there will be no stopping you now!! Keep enjoying your beautiful surroundings… Marg..ox
(((Marg))) Magic Days!
What a fabulous acquisition Mo……. freedom YES!!! The next best thing to an electric car for sure. So pleased to read that you are now feeling at home and making new friends too. The Blue Mountains are truly spectacular…thank you for the sharing.
(((Eliene))) I named her Free yesterday when a girfriend asked!
What a great e-bike Mo, with a name like that it has to be Dutch! I can imagine cycling is a lot more fun and feasable with a little help……especially in your mountainous area.
I too bought one ( a blue Dutch ID with all-terrain tires) last November and had to wait till January for delivery, I now run all my errands under 10 km on bike, and get to know the countryside all over again.
Over here it seems everyone has gone e-bike-mad;-)
((((Saskia))) aha, Lekker is Yummy in English and so she is & so swift!
Way to go Mo! Over beyond and through!
(((Wayne))) “Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose”
MC – way to go. B
(((Barry))) she’s a beauty!
Wheels to fly, what a spiffy way to travel! Exploring enchantment in a place where the magic never ends, wonders at every bend in the road and the road belongs to an ancient land; so many stories rise up when I look at your Blue Mountains. You have found your tribe Mo…
(((Marti))) what a wild ride of a year!
Hot darn! I’ve been eyeing one but this is a beauty! And it can perform as a side by side walking partner. Dreamy! Nice basket. You’ll get far and wide with this. NeatO!
Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears I tried out a couple of other e-bikes which were good rides but I didn’t fall in love with them, the Lekker is the perfect fit!
Looked up. Doesn’t look like electric variety from Lekker available in the US. I’ll have to keep exploring or contact them. Maybe on the way.🤞
i’ve wondered about e-bikes myself. lovely that you can get places you might not have done without it!
(((Velma))) & it’s so much fun!
Wow. some place to ride a bike !!!
(((Els))) all the little towns & villages along the Blue Mountains train line are surrounded by National Park with so many beautiful bushwalks & bicycle paths to get there!
It looks like you’re living your best life. I hope the dream continues for many years to come!
(((Lana))) feeling like a cat with 9 lives who has landed on her feet once again!
love the dream machine (((Mo)))
(((Susi))) it’s dawn here in the mountains after a big night of solstice dreams will go for a ride once the frost melts!
