I’ve been living on Cloud 9 both metaphorically and atmospherically
love the way the mist softens and mystifies the edges.
Yesterday was just getting the last bits sorted, ordered potting mix from the hardware store at 4am, it was delivered by midday & the sun came out long enough to take lots of photos of everything looking so clean and tidy, it will never be this neat again!
guard dragon near the frog pond
each treasure falling into place like the last pieces of a jigsaw puzzle
hallway leading out to the back deck
Old Man Crow memento mori
hippie lounge that doubles as a guest bedroom, scored 2 single bed electric blankets on sale yesterday, they’ll make it a lot cosier for winter

studio with leather airing and stitching the long cloth of grieving

studio shelves

pinning up the annual moon planting guide is a tradition, old hippies in Oz will remember this calendar on the dunny door in almost every share house back in the 70’s

moon and stars enjoying the bird bath

the dream mandala has found its spot in the garden

owl rock on old bollard

potting mix for all the pots and troughs ready to be filled with lots of perennials, bulbs and annual colour with the upcoming full moon. The garden is low maintenance with established natives, just needs a bit of tidying up and mowing

brand new Flymo push mower that I picked up yesterday from the local hardware.
Feel like a cat with 9 lives landing on my feet once again!
Oh, Mo! It’s got your stamp all over it!
(((Di))) it’s a dream come true!
The house is now a beautiful home. It’s beautiful.
(((Graham & Jenny))) I hope you come up to visit soon!
it seems as if you have always lived here! you must have tons of energy seeing the amount of work you get done…..I remember being weirdly energized after the loss of our parents last year
your surroundings are such a gift and they matter, at least that’s how it works for me, I am so happy for you you found this place
(((Saskia))) have been living on adrenaline since Rod was first diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in October. Starting to slow down, learning to relax, loving the fresh mountain air and gentler pace of life.
“Like a puzzle” is all the confirmation you need of a decision well-made. It looks quite inviting.
(((Dee))) the game of putting the bits and pieces of my life back together into this new configuration
Your new digs seem to call out for what is needed inside and outside to make everything comfortable and a good place to create. Love seeing your special pieces finding home and looking just right.
Such a lovely new place for your transition time, Mo. I hold you in love and light every day, always thinking of you as I am out walking with my trekking poles.😊🌟🪴❤️🌺💖
(((Kristin))) loving the wild bushwalks of Blackheath & being a Blackheathen at last!
It looks so homely, organised, Mo-ishly loved and misty mountains. A gas heater is on its way for the studio. Has left my place, is with Madeleine and will be with you soon. I hope to visit soon as well, when I am able.
(((Liz))) thanks so much for the gas heater, it will be necessary out in the studio in winter with that cement floor and all the glass! Look forward to catching up when you can, will ring later today to see how you’re travelling.
Oh Mo you’ll be happy there………………
(((Martine))) I’m a Blackheathen at last, our dreams sustain us heart and soul and this one has been a long time coming!
Ahhh Mo, what a feeling of home all of this has! Nestled in as they say, and lots of lovely bits about you. YES to the airing of leather – the mist is magic (as we know from our mountain top) but it does love to leave behind mould, so worth paying attention early, unlike myself who delighted in it but ignored some of the consequences! Looking great!
(((Fiona))) on Monday I sprinkled bicarb of soda on each mould bloom, rubbed it in gently then after 20 minutes vacuumed up the spores, the bottle of Leather Hero Mould Remover arrived in the letterbox yesterday as there were small blooms on almost every piece, this started back in late August at Chelmsford St when I did the big spring clean of the studio, tried clove oil but really didn’t like the smell, the old sea trunk needs to air for a good six months, it’s been such a wet year!
Good on you Mo – get on it early! We also use a diluted white vinegar to wipe down surfaces as well. We were busy with the wood type in the studio today…
Love your little cottage with its hippy overtones. Now for the next adventure of your life. I hope it’s filled with many new friends, art, gardening, laughter and quiet times of contemplation.❤️
(((Lana))) this is the first time to have a separate studio space in this lifetime, it’s time to get back to making artful things that matter !
Looks great Mo!
Looking loved and wonderful, Mo!
(((Valerianna))) just finished filling all the troughs and pots with fresh potting mix will go to the nursery tomorrow morning to buy bulbs, seedlings and seeds with the waxing almost full moon in the water sign of Scorpio!
so happy for you mo …. it’s a beautiful home to heal in .
lots of love to you ( :
(((Kathy))) your Healing White Raven is hanging on the curtain rail in my bedroom & Rod’s spirit is helping me out in the garden today!
Your pieces make this lovely house a beautiful home Mo…….everything just fits!!!
(((Eliene))) these are such special Magic Days!
Mo~ This is so fantastic to see, this home you’re building! Everything looks so fitting in its new home…including you too. The mist is beautiful…the green…the hippie lounge and all of those nooks and crannies! May you have many beloved days of creating, healing and enjoying your new space.
(((Nancy))) loving the waxing to Full Moon energy coming into wilds of Scorpio tonight!
((((Mo)))) So wonderful to see you settling in to being a Blackheathen. Your house looks great and the added studio is just amazing. I would love to think I could visit you but tomorrow is my 80th birthday and while I’m feeling very young at heart, In reality my mobility is seriously compromised. My travelling days seem to be over though I’m still working at arty things and hope I will always be able to make things. I love that I can follow your adventures on line. You are very much loved. Go well, Mo. xxx
(((Carol))) may you have many more happy returns and continue to make artful things that matter for the rest of your life!
It’s Beauty Full, mo, like a magazine
(((Grace))) it was so good getting out into the garden today but I’m knackered, need to have a shower and an afternoon nap even though it’s a beautiful warm sunny day, no wind, would be perfect for a bushwalk… maybe just a quick nap! Getting the house sorted is like installing an exhibition, it’s time to sit back and relax into this new life.
We could all use a guard dragon AND a hippie lounge these days! 🐲☯️ Makes me yearn a sticks and bricks again…that red door at the end of the hall! 🚪🤗💓 It’s all so luscious!
(((CG))) the removalist reckoned people should move every two years, that’s a bit too soon for me but every four years would be good for keeping the clutter and dust down. 13 & 1/2 years at Chelmsford St was a record for both Old Man Crow and me, I’ve lived in 50 houses in my 67 years!
It’s all very beautiful Mo, so fun to see all the nooks and crannies. I imagine you will be growing different things, a different garden climate?
(((Deb))) I have dreamed of growing so many cool climate plants for years, looking forward to seeing what’s available at the nursery tomorrow!
so much done and so much to anticipate doing … inside and out … already feeling like a long-tme home
(((Liz))) one of the things I miss most since Old Man Crow left the stage in January is hearing him play his music. The next door neighbour sings like an angel and her band practices most afternoons, a great introduction to the local music scene!
Looks so lovely and inviting I always enjoyed seeing your interior photos. And all that space I am envious. I live in a one room school house plus a kitchen and one room upstairs.
(((Diane))) my friend Eric lives in a one room school house near Millaa Millaa up on the Atherton Tablelands in far North Queensland. He and his partner Carol (RIP April 2014) bought & moved the old town hall from up the road setting it down at right angles to the school house. They put in a huge cement slab under both buildings for their Dragonglass studio !
This is wonderful (((Mo)))
(((Susi))) enjoyed working in the studio this morning now that all the unpacking and getting things in place is done, even found my set squares that have been lost since the big studio spring clean in August last year and my favourite pair of Japanese snips! Just made an Honesty thank you card for the kind person at no 34 who took my missing parcel back to the post office on Friday that had been delivered there rather than here at 84, honest mistake on the postie’s part as the label had been chopped right through the 84 to look like 34!
((Mo)) what a wonderful, spacious and already cosy place this is !!! Many happy years there my dearest (if I lived a bit nearer I would surely want to visit you there 🙂 !)
(((Els))) this is the best move ever, have never had so much space and light!
YES and it shows 🙂
What you have done since losing Rod is absolutely amazing .. you went ahead fulfilling the dream you both shared for a long time. I love and admire you for that. I love everything about your new home and the spirit you’ve brought into it.
(((Tina))) Rod’s spirit is helping me make this move the best ever, will sprinkle some more of his ashes around the garden tomorrow in celebration of the Full Moon and all the good memories. Today after buying the spring bulbs, seedlings and seeds for the troughs & pots my friend Cathy and I will take some ashes to Bridal Veil Falls so they can fly down the falls to Rod’s beloved Blue Gum Forest where he and Barry shared many a wild bushwalk back in the their university days!
Hi Mo!
I do love a misty morning. Well done on settling in so quickly! It’s looking lovely. Go forth happily into your new future. You will always miss Rod and I know this was the life you planned together and now have to do alone. I am sending you love to soften your journey.
Best, Rene.
>
(((René))) these are such beautiful bittersweet magic days
So happy for you Mo…..Marg ox
(((Marg))) I’m over the moon & dancing, Magic Days!
You are inspiring! Everything looks so organized, and so quickly. It would have taken me a month, at least. It all looks cozy and homey.
(((Faith))) planted out all the pots with spring flowering bulbs, perennials, seedlings and seeds yesterday and this morning just after midnight for the Full Moon sprinkled Rod’s ashes around the edges of the garden & all the pots. To top this morning off purrfectly I found the last ‘lost thing’ to surface, my favourite cat candlestick holder!
Looks super homely already Mo! Congratulations
(((Sarah))) I love being a Blackheathen!
I closed my eyes, and just sighed…the whole of your home is filled with color, creativity, wondrous nooks and crannies, and simply, quiet joy…the mists that enfold, the coming knowing of the neighbors nearby, but most of all, I thought of your dear and darling man, with you always, giving of his spirit in the garden, soon at Bridal Veil Falls, surrounding you with an ever lasting love…how happy he must be to know that you lived up to your collective dream of both becoming Blackheathens…and as I wrote this, the words to “dance with me darlin” came forth…this dream of living as a Blackheathen, is a reality as is Rod’s ever presence…dance in the joy of all that you have accomplished Mo in such a short time. Dance to memories, dance to new creative inspirations, Dance to coming home..
Your hippy lounge is just my sort of place; it feels like you would be sleeping under the stars, under a tree canopy. This house has so much space and light and is calming while at the same time, bristling with inspiration…So when I have a bit more energy, have been under the weather, I will come back here and do a dance to honor your very special home.
(((Marti))) Old Man Crow joyous spirit dances so lightly holding us together with love!
Oh, Mo, such beautiful light and spaces. Deep breaths of joy for you. It must feel like another world, a place of dreams and memories. Love to you.
(((Hazel))) such bittersweet magic days, both Rod and Ariel passed on to become stardust or compost on the Full Moon
a wonderful walk-thru your new home. i see you in all the rooms, sweeping through them right through the door to the garden. happy planting! xo…
