yikes! the new property manager for the real estate agent is a conscientious young man who just did an inspection of this beautiful but fragile old house. He is worried that it’s unsafe for me to be here & is going to send a builder and structural engineer over to make an assessment…
Aaaaarrrrkkkk! Roderick xmas 2013
PS have been looking for a cottage to rent in the Blue Mountains since late February, have formally applied for four light, dry places with good heating & wild gardens but have been pipped at the post every time… competition is fierce, the good ones get snapped up in 2 days.
X fingers the next one will be mine!

  1. Nancy says:

Well, crap. Fingers crossed all goes okay. xo

  2. Eliene says:

Maybe the Universe is making a decision for you Mo……just ask the Universe to find the purrfect house for you in the best location, at the right price and in the appropriate time…..and ask the real estate man to give you the time for that all to happen. Memories last forever,

  3. Saskia van Herwaarden says:

    fingers more than crossed!
you deserve a nice place to live and work

  4. Pete Webb says:

Get a friendly builder mate to check it out too .
Engineers can be neurotic about safety rules and regulation love Pete

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Pete))) this old lady of a house needs a full renovation, she has been held together with hope and bits of fencing wire for 13 & 1/2 years, it’s time for her to be sold and for me to move on !

  5. Martine Bos says:

Mo………….all fingers crossed. I imagine you in Blue Mountains, hope that helps………….

  6. deemallon says:

Yikes. Time enough to pack up to the next place? Or will you need temporary housing before that?

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dee))) the new property manager is going to write a glowing reference to help secure my new home in the mountains. I feel he’s totally onside, an honest young man starting out in a new and responsible position. I will be staying put until the new place shows up x fingers very soon!

  7. jude says:

All in here, crossed and wishing for the best❤

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Jude))) the longing for Blue, so close and yet so far…
“We treat desire as a problem to be solved, address what desire is for and focus on that something and how to acquire it rather than on the nature and the sensation of desire, though often it is the distance between us and the object of desire that fills the space in between with the blue of longing. I wonder sometimes whether with a slight adjustment of perspective it could be cherished as a sensation on its own terms, since it is as inherent to the human condition as blue is to distance? If you can look across the distance without wanting to close it up, if you can own your longing in the same way that you own the beauty of that blue that can never be possessed? For something of this longing will, like the blue of distance, only be relocated, not assuaged, by acquisition and arrival, just as the mountains cease to be blue when you arrive among them and the blue instead tints the next beyond. Somewhere in this is the mystery of why tragedies are more beautiful than comedies and why we take a huge pleasure in the sadness of certain songs and stories. Something is always far away. The far seeps in even to the nearest. After all we hardly know our own depths.”

  8. Liz A says:

I will put hope for your new home on the prayer wheel … it’s a windy day so that’s gonna be a lotta hopes

  9. Marti says:

May it be soon that light and warmth and welcoming walls of a little cottage up in the Blue Mtns will be calling your name…sending a nudge to the finding a good home fairy to make it so! I do hope that it will be soon but I also hope that you will be able to stay in your old home until it is so…

  10. (Mo) Yikes, indeed. I have such a strong feeling that you and the right house will find each other. Will add my mojo to that wish. (Having trouble getting comments to stick on wordpress again. I don’t think my last one did.)

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Beth))) thank you for these good words, the energies are gathering to make the move happen very soon!
PS found your comments in the spam folder will try to work out why…

  11. Tina says:

Everything crossed here as well .. the perfect little place is just waiting for you. Sending prayerful Blessings that all will work out perfectly.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Tina))) just waiting for my next door neighbour to wake up to witness my tenancy application forms, then I will e-mail them off with all the supporting documentation and see what those two cottages look like in real life next Monday. The hunt is on and the quarry is close!

  12. Faith says:

  13. Hazel says:

Dear Mo, I’m stitching on a blue house today, will visualize it being on blue mountains with you waving out the window! Fingers & toes criss-crossed for you, oxo

  14. Carol says:

((((Mo)))). Everything crossed that the perfect little house appears soon. Prayers and good wishes going your way.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Carol))) Both 5 Eveleigh Ave and 84 Hat Hill Road would be perfect for my new home
If I have to choose one I would pick 5 Eveleigh Ave because I love the garden and it would teach me so much about cool climate gardening. Also I prefer central heating & wood fires to AC
but if I can keep both applications open I really hope the right house will choose me!
