Comments
This is extra special…love it!!!
(((Eliene))) this one has been surprisingly demanding to make but I think it’s done !
Beautiful object. In the dark background, it has a renaissance feel. I hate the block editor.
(((Dee))) thanks for the good words for the memory keeper & ho hum, just another learning curve, it’s nearly 10 years since I started this blog and it has been hassle free til now… WordPress is a solid platform and the changes probably have to do with keeping it working with the mobile phones as I don’t think many people use desktop computers these days!
Yeah on my phone I can opt out of block editor but I can’t in my PC
I refuse to have a mobile phone even for the classic editor, I really don’t want to be that connected!
Understand. I do — but we’re different!
Thanks Dee … I didn’t know that!
Oh Mo, really lovely this one is.
(((Nancy))) it finally came together today after an extended ugly phase, there has been more unstitching than stitching on this one!
how interesting to read….it is so peace Full
(((Grace))) I often have to wrestle with my materials!
A beautiful keeper of precious memories and treasures…which memories are really. Great outcome although a difficult process, some of the best are born from struggles; others appear as if by magic! How ell.
(((Fiona))) over the last few days of finishing this one I was half wondering about the black sticky spots on some pieces of thread and cord, then whilst tidying up yesterday realized I had knocked over a whole bottle of very black pigment ink that had formed a drying puddle in the middle of my work bench, feeling so lucky that I only lost a couple of metres of thread and cord!
ooh what a beauty to wake up to see! Magical
(((Susi))) it turned out fine in the end!
Exquisite, Mo-Happy Easter xx
(((René))) am enjoying this year of variations with the moon
Beautiful Mo. I am using Site Origins editor. A plugin. I love it but who knows what other issues that will create . Hey ho.
(((Jude))) I need to read the Block Editor User Guide instead of just blithely wading in with this post & saying that in retrospect it started to make a bit of sense yesterday…
Like mom used to say, anything is easy if you know how!
the block editor is annoying as all get out … but so so worth it when we get to see a post like this …
love seeing familiar bits and bobs put together in yet another new way … the same, but different … always something wondrous to engage the eye (and the fingertips from the look of it!)
(((Liz))) I am trying to hold off adding any more embellishments, will hand deliver it on Thursday to the crystal healer who is doing distance work for a dear friend with brain cancer.
Hi MC – wow a large powerful piece – you put so much energy and love into your work and it shows. Go well. B
Thanks Barry, I thought the dimensions looked wrong, the bag itself is H 15 cm x W 14cm, overall L with fringe & handle is 75cm, have fixed it now.
exquisite
(((Saskia)))
Late in coming here due to a move, but we are getting settled now and coming here and seeing this memory keeper, this healing vessel, this spirit filled, loving, kind and I do mean kind stitched wondrous piece of cloth art is such a gift, not only for all of us but for the healer who will use it. I’ve always felt that you have magic in your hands Mo but with this moon and stars memory keeper, you have the spirit of healing in your fingers as well. All of this wrapped around your exquisite artistry, your huge heart and your boundless love… and as we know, there is no more powerful magic and comfort…
(((Marti))) thank you for these beautiful words & you have just moved! Wishing you all the best with exploring your new space, are you still in New Mexico?
Yes, we are still in the same city in New Mexico, Rio Rancho. Unexpected move but landlord need $ . Hard move given the pandemic with many showings only done virtually and I did not want us to go anywhere until R was fully vaccinated which was done by Feb. 26. Found this place on March 5 and moved in April 5. Long time since we have lived in a quadraplex but we are on the bottom; neighbors are quiet and have lived here a long time. One of them is our landlord’s daughter, a kindergarten teacher who returned to the classroom on Monday. Larger space but we gave up a garden, still there are pots that can be planted and a little border area with some plantings but I will also fill in with some herbs. We do have a blooming and budding apple tree in front of our place so that is good. Plus the water here, different zip code, is delicious. At our other place, we had to rely on filtered or bottled water. Best news is that place is cheaper, we are saving $ and the landlord pays the water, sewer and trash as water is expensive in New Mexico. We could have stayed until our lease expired in June but places had long waiting lists which totally surprised me given the pandemic so, as they say, we struck while the iron was hot! All settled and this morning, I put up some of my cloth wall hangings and tied my I Dream of a World Where Love is the Answer pennant onto the apple tree- life is good.
You are such an inspiration for finding the good things in this sudden move, good to hear your pennant for the dream is hanging in the apple tree & that you have more space & good water this time!
So beautiful, really drawn to the texture
(((Deb))) the loosely woven silk is so soft, it was a challenge to find the right threads and cord to marry the silk to the leather !
