Cosmic Seedling Mo 20
graphite, watercolour and ink
H 29.7cm x W 21.2cm
it’s finished for now, in 2 hours I am going to have cataract surgery on my left eye
it will be interesting to see how the colours look with renovated vision
the right eye will be done in a few months
seems appropriate that my name came up on the public wait list for surgery in this year of 2020 vision
and to put this in perspective Tim Minchin wrote this song

  1. deemallon says:

It’s just beautiful, Mo. So subtle and strong and with lots of magic.

  2. Nancy says:

Oh, Mo…it looks so great. I see a face in the center, left side, lower quadrant…the lower drip looks like the nose.
Best of luck with your surgery. I have such a soft spot for folks having eye surgery, after mine.
    Heal well my friend.

  3. Tina says:

If you don’t mind my asking how long were you on the wait list .. just curious. Your cosmic seedling is Amazing. I will send out prayers that your surgery goes well.

  4. Eliene says:

Love Tim’s work… lets thank God for providing the best surgeon for bringing your sight back to the 20/20 eyesight you were born with. By the time you read this, I trust you will be home and resting and all is well…and bright…and colourful…..Lots of healing waves across the border which just out of interest will be closed between our 2 states tomorrow midnight. BTW your now inked drawing looks amazingly detailed….but then again, that is one of the things you do best.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Eliene))) home again with a new lens, the surgeon will take the eye patch off tomorrow morning and do the first lot of eye drops. We’re taking the week off from the gardening as I can’t do anything that requires looking down which is tricky cause just about everything I do is about looking down, am kneeling on the floor to write this reply!

  5. Acey says:

Sending good thoughts for safe passage and strong healing. Cosmic Seedling is magnificent! I just keep looking and looking.

  6. Christina says:

Mo…what a wondrous cosmic seedling!….shows the strength and magic of the cosmos so beautifully. Wishing you all the best for your surgery and renewed vision…much love .

  7. Rene Walkin says:

Godspeed with the healing process, Mo-you won’t know yourself afterwards!

  8. Marti says:

To create Cosmic Seedling, a whimsical, delicate, mysterious, depth filled, astonishingly beautiful work, with your eyes as they were, speaks to the deep creative magic that you hold within you Mo. May you heal quickly and well. No need to respond back to this comment because it is important that you take good care of yourself.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Marti))) will still wear glasses for reading, working on the computer & the close up work but will be able to see distance a lot better which will be so good for when we move to the mountains!

  9. All the best for your surgery. 💐💐💐

  10. Peggy McG says:

Your work is so detailed and lovely! Sending good healing vibes!

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Peggy))) did some fine needle lace mending early this morning with the glasses I use for close up work and could see better than before the surgery so I’m not going to have to take any time off from the artwork but will have to be careful with the gardening next week, have taken this week off.

  11. Barry says:

MC – as others have said – such delicate colours. I hope it all looks crystal clear after your surgery; which I hope goes really well. B

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Barry))) the colours are so much brighter and all the edges of the world are so clear, I can see the numbers on the bus for the first time this century!

  12. Laura says:

Thank you for the introduction to Tim Minchin! I now have something fun to watch, giving me a break from 24-hour news. I love your finely detailed illustration.
I’m wondering if I should break my quarantine (here in California, not far from Grace) Sunday. We have Destiny Church (a square block church with three huuuuuuuge white crosses in front that are lit up at night, and can be seen from two freeways). They have emphatically decided to break the closure mandate from the governor, required because Covid cases have spiked so high. I’m wondering if I should go (in my mask), and ask someone (not likely in a mask) if they would please pray for your eyes.
They should pray for our country, and for a spark of intelligent life.

  13. Laura says:

I forgot to tell you: I, also, think that love is the answer.
I hope your eye heals well and quickly.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Laura))) my eye is healing so quickly, the thing I find amazing is my reading and stitching glasses work better than they have in years!
