round the last turn heading for the home stretch

Posted: January 18, 2019 by Mo Crow in Braille for the Soul, It's Crow Time, The Gathering

The photoshoot of all the pennants, talismans and oddments for the online catalogue went well with a lot of help from Old Man Crow and his iPhone after a disastrous first day using a fancy DSLR with all the bells and whistles that I had no idea how to operate in the hope that if I just put it on auto it would do all the work, it didn’t…
the armature fit out the front door with all the talismans wrapped with tissue paper
for the two minute walk up to the gallery and safely back
good to have a go before the install date on February 25th
just working steadily each day with the production schedule (a handy tool that helps keep my eye on the ball)
all the pennants waiting with the cloud of tulle to be hung and suspended
it’s time to get the bit between the teeth, put the head down and go, see you out the other side!

  1. Rene Walkin says:

Godspeed with the installation-it will look wonderful!

    • Mo Crow says:

(((René))) thanks for the good vibes, it was such a buzz seeing it work in the white space of the gallery, keeping everything under wraps now til the opening!

  2. Just saw the post and thought ‘I must talk to Mo’
So exciting – we are all ‘right behind you’ – imagine that!!!!!
My heart gave a leap seeing my pennant with the cloud of tulle

Thank you Mo – am sure you can feel all our love – after all, Love IS the answer!

  3. Marti says:

Mo, thanks for letting us know how it is going…The home stretch, the final dance of this incredibly connective, joyful, spirit filled journey, begun by a single vision that morphed into satin and lace and stitch and feathers and bells and words and bone and shell, all coming together to make dreams became the reality of Love. Mo, thank you for letting us all participate in this wondrous journey. We are all behind you in spirit, in solidarity and in love, and come March, the world will sing, along with all of us and especially you and Rod, “I Dream of a World Where Love is the Answer.”

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Marti))) your beautiful words brought a catch in the throat and tears to the eyes, the dream has gathered itself together with the energy of community right from the word go when I was wondering what to do with the gift of the old wedding dress and has grown into a huge wave of love which will be released at the opening!

  4. Nanette says:

Oh how I’d loved to have been there to see you walk the armature up the street. We’re all with you for the home stretch.

  5. dinahmow says:

That would have been sight to see.Well done!

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Di))) Old Man Crow is so good at making everything fun as well as having a good head for problem solving having spent many years at university doing engineering, he’s a treasure!

  6. Onward beautiful diamond. The home stretch is one of the hardest parts of this journey. Candles of love are on fire from Manhattan for you..

  7. Eliene says:

Oh.. the dream…The dream is becoming real. Remember to breathe in any moments of ‘stress”
and breathe in ALL the love that is coming your way & feel the LOVE that is/will be in your hands. May you travel smoothly beautiful people. Love you!!!

  8. Liz A says:

Having seen the incredible organization of your opening for the lyrics of Old Man Crow, I haven’t a worry for this project. My only hope is that you enjoy every step of the journey!

Love, love, love … love is all you need

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Liz))) I have to admit to melting down on Tuesday after taking a lot of very bad photos with the DSLR! Old Man Crow truly saved the day with his iPhone. Over our xmas break I worked on the catalogue layout in a desktop publishing program called In Design which I had never worked with before, every time I hit a wall in the process the man would drop what he was doing (or wake up if it happened to be 3am) and fix the problem, he’s a treasure!

  9. Louise Watson says:

Go Mo! Well done and please do fit in some quiet moments for yourself to take a breather in between all the stressful activity. Sending you both much love and energy! x

  10. Nancy says:

Besides your skill and vision and OMC’s engineering abilities and dream and the contributions from ‘the community’ filled with love and hope…you are the definition of a ‘working artist’. Your scheduling notes and plans are filled with hours of planning and problem-solving, which are so very impressive! I can’t wait to see the procession (it sounds so grand) and the gallery photographs! Keep lovin’ and carry on 🙂

  11. Hazel says:

Your list! Daunting and buzzing with excitement. Wishing smooth seas for you as you pull all of the love together into its glory.

  12. deemallon says:

How exciting! Others have already so it so well, but much admiration to you and Rod for making this happen. Like Liz, I have total faith in your capacity to focus and get stuff done.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dee))) it’s such a buzz looking at each pennant & talisman again both physically with hanging them in the white space of the gallery and now sorting the photos for the catalogue!

  13. Barry says:

Wow MC – pulling such an exhibition together is always scary – but in the end so worth it. Hang in there. Go well. B

  14. Martine says:

Mo…………of course this goes well because you and all the artpieces are carried by the white light that you yourself have called…………………XXX

  15. Yvette says:

    You beautiful firefly

Thank you to make this possible !

World is rich with the love you create

Enjoy and feel us around you
    Loving you

  16. Jane says:

Seeing the installation in your doorway gives such an excitement within knowing your designing and planning, your hard work in keeping us posted and that of all the other contributers for your exhibition is coming to fruition for one and all. Well done Mo. Thank you. xx

  17. Lana says:

    Happy happy joy joy❤️

  18. ravenandsparrow says:

I’m joining the chorus here Mo, to say that I have perfect confidence that this installation/catalog/moving project will come out just right. I am very anxious to see it.
I have been using In Design for many years and it has lots of features which can be difficult to jump into for the first time. Good luck with it and with every aspect of your project. It is such an honor to be a part of it.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dana))) the catalogue is looking good, all the text & images for each contribution are in place but hit a wall in the early hours of yesterday morning when the computer froze that even Old Man Crow hasn’t found a work around … just rang a local book designer- Avril Makula of Alphabet City Press, X fingers she can get it to successfully convert to PDF, it’s so very very close yet so far…
