Old Man Crow and I are both crook as Rookwood (a cemetery in Sydney)
these photos are of a magical gathering of crows at Waverley Cemetery  back in 2006
a fantastic view from the clifftops
love the way the crows seemed to pose just for us
totemic beings
x fingers we’ll start feeling better soon!
NB feeling crook is Aussie slang for feeling sick with a dreadful lurgy
& can also mean getting a scolding as in “my Mum went crook at me” which totally confounded me in a grammar test when I first went to school in Melbourne back in 1969 (nearly 50 years ago!)

the good news is the framer did a great job framing Beauty
for All is [not] Black & White at Artsite
but I was way too out of it at the opening on Sunday to get any decent photos
this beautiful thank you card and clay scrolls mounted on a piece of Silky Oak
just arrived in the mail from Fiona Dempster of Paper Ponderings
with such good timing my beautiful friend!

  1. Susan says:

Sending healing hugs to both of you

  2. dinahmow says:

Hope you shake off your lurgy soon.At least you have company!
    Love Fiona’s scrolls.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Di))) Fiona’s scrolls & card lift my spirits, x fingers we will feel better by tomorrow as we have a big day of gardening on, spring is just around the corner, all the Magnolias are in full flight and the jasmine is so close !

  3. Barry says:

MC – sorry to hear that you and Old Man Crow are crook – very crook. Hope you recover soon. B

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Barry))) x fingers Old Man Crow will feel well enough to drive by tomorrow, we really need to do some gardening to get back on our feet, 4 days of hot and cold sweats, brain fog and nausea is very tiring & disorientating, look forward to waking up tomorrow feeling better as we almost never get sick at the same time!

  4. Carol says:

Oh, Mo, and of course Rod, get well soon. So sorry the Lurgy got you. xxx

  5. Heat lurgy perhaps. but of your into Spring Gardens, perhaps not there as here. These photographs are simply wonderful.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Michelle))) it’s still winter here til the 1st of September but it’s been glorious weather for weeks with highs of 20˚C (68˚F) haven’t turned on the heater for ages! a bit of Crow Magic always soothes the soul and just finished reading Isabel Allende’s memoir from 2008 ‘The Sum of Us’

  6. Rene says:

Dear Mo-Get well soon! It’s horrible being ill. Sending healing thoughts your way. Wonderful photographs of the crows in the cemetery.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((René))) I want my brain back, it’s been in a fever fog for 4 days! Witnessing that crow gathering was one of the most magic days of my life & even had my camera with me but accidentally reduced the size of the originals for the web so this is the highest resolution.

  7. Fiona says:

Oh Mo – so many things. First up so sorry you have been laid so low; the chills and fevers and brain fog sound awful and I hope you return soon to steadiness. Second – love ‘crook as Rookwood’ and haven’t heard it for ages! I went to Uni at Cumberland CHS – at the end of a dead end st in lidcombe next to Rookwood, the largest cemetery in the southern hemisphere and we used to say that all the time – thank you for the reminder (not the basis of the reminder). And the photos of Waverley Cemetery and crows – oh my goodness. Beyond belief. Stunning and amazing – wow. And then, so glad my wee bits arrived when they were needed – I really do love how the universe can sometimes connect and deliver…go well, and get well!

  8. Susan Hemann says:

Mo, hope you guys are feeling better! I have been sick for the last 2 weeks, went to the ER, turns out I had a bacterial infection! I’m still in and out of bed. I love the pictures of the cemetery and crows!
I love old cemeteries. I got locked in an old Civil War cemetery in Texas. lol long story
    Well, I wish you well.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Susan))) two weeks, eek! x fingers you get better soon, did you stay all night in that old Civil War cemetery? that would be a wild experience!

  9. Healing wishes Mo – go easy for a few days if you can and build up energy

  10. beth says:

Hope you are both feeling much better by now.
