Jane Bodnaruk’s beautiful pennant just arrived to join The Gathering
eco-printed eucalyptus leaves speak so strongly of the Sydney bushland
beautifully stitched on the most delicate silk
catching the wild beauty of gum leaves in the wind
the way they dance & twirl
singing on the breeze
shimmering
the other side
Jane’s work speaks with such deep love for our ancient land and the quiet power and perseverance of women

Feel the wind, sense the sway of eucalyptus leaves, touch the stitched trace marks of Jane’s strong yet delicate stitching and know that you are embraced by Earth Magic. This pennant moves me deeply, fills all of my senses with gratitude for the gifts of the land. I imagine that it also imparts a sense of smell, that earthy, pungent. cleansing sense of eucalyptus that in and of itself is healing., Jane’s pennant is alive with the spirit of place yes, but equally speaks to the idea that to Dream of a World where Love is the Answer, it begins right outside our door, that step into Nature, that forms our world with its incredible beauty and balance. In seeing, honoring and respecting all that is Nature, we embrace the whole of the planet and when we do that, Love is not only the answer but is our truth…

You should! Leave it to Marti to articulate what is so
Lovely and alive about this cloth. Very beautiful. It DOES seem alive!

  3. Tina says:

Another beautiful addition to an already amazing collection of artists wings .. flying in from here .. there .. everywhere. The message that Love Is The Answer is coming through loud and clear.

  4. ravenandsparrow says:

This pennant seems especially silky and soft…evocative of wind and the graceful obeisance of the grass before it. I immediately thought of Australia, even though I have never been (the color? the leaf shapes? the pods?). I also enjoy the shadowy layers brought into focus by the exquisite stitching. Your piece is going to speak strongly of Place both individual and global.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dana))) the silk and stitching is exquisitely soft, the conversations between them all is fascinating, we truly are circling the world with love!

  5. Margaret Johnson says:

    Lovely..ox

  6. fiberels says:

Ahhhhh, that’s really AUSTRALIA all over !!! 😀

  7. Hazel says:

There is such wistfulness about this one, really lovely.

  8. Barry says:

MC – you have a real collection of meaningful pieces. B

  9. Liz A says:

I so love Jane’s stitches bringing some of the leaves forward while others stay quietly in the background … likewise the fray and texture in the cloth itself.
