  2. Marti says:

Simply, WOW! Jane’s pennant vibrates with such strong meanings and connections. From modern talismans to ancient symbols, this pennant has that sense of coming from the depths of contemporary action and ancient myth. The talismans signifying peace, the peace symbol, the Gandhi quote, evoke a time when we thought we could change the world and we did in many ways and we can again, it is so needed. The life symbols, the cat for rebirth, the owl for wisdom, the tree symbol of life, of the green knowing, enhance, enlighten and enfold….

Then we come to the turquoise appliques and I feel spirit rising because of the color. The color of turquoise has always signified spirit to me as has the color green. Here in New Mexico, turquoise is found everywhere and is our state stone.gemstone. Native Americans believe that the color encompasses earth and sky. “I Dream of a World Where Love is the Answer” holds the sky for each and every one of us and water is the precious elixir of life. In an exhibition of turquoise at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in New Mexico, curator Maxine McBrinn noted, “turquoise was felt to be the point of origin for Native people” . It is also said that ” turquoise reflects the soul of the person, not the stone but the color and that the color reflects the meaning”. To me, this quote is so apt to describe the sense of Janes.s pennant; a wondrous. powerful pennant.

(((Marti))) you have such a gift for words, Jane works with deep love and magical connection to the earth & all her wild beings, the turquoise connection is very powerful and personal for me, my brother sent me a piece of turquoise from New Mexico which I carved into the Blue Cat Dreaming back in 2004

  3. Martine says:

    So much magic………………

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Martine))) Jane is the most magical woman I have ever met, you have her clothes peg Cat Goddess Bastet that I dressed up with the tiny blue cape in gratitude for your stitching Bee Happy into cloth!

  4. Nancy says:

    I could look for hours!

  5. Liz A says:

Such wonder seeing the pennants gathering … I share Marti’s love of turquoise and thank her for expanding my understanding of it. And I so appreciate your sharing other pieces of Jane’s talented artwork with us … the two Tiny Otherworld Artifact Collectors especially.

  6. Magic may be the only answer in these troubled and troubling times. Jane’s magic is potent indeed.

  7. deemallon says:

She introduces an element of whimsy, which is nice. I adore her paintings and assemblages.

  8. fiberels says:

    Wow !!! that’s a lot of beautiful paintings !!!
(and of course a special pennant !)

  9. ravenandsparrow says:

Talismanic and magical indeed. I love the contrast of the heavy lace appliques and varied charms against the smooth shiny satin. The more you look at this pennant the more there is to see, and the color combinations (azure shading into darker blues with pink surprises) are alluring. Jane is clearly a highly accomplished artist.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dana))) visiting Jane & her work at Designers on Show is one of the major highlights of my year & having her pennant arrive in the house is real magic!

  10. Wow!! Jane’s work is so gorgeous and full of nature-magic! I’m off to investigate more of her work; so exciting! ❤ ❤ ❤
