A Talisman of Love for our beautiful broken world by Nanette Gilbert
hand felted, embroidered and beaded with a shisha mirror for protection
Aboriginal symbol for meeting place embroidered on the back
inside are Nanette’s words written on elephant dung paper & bound with a fine purple thread
Nanette and I had a good yarn yesterday over a cup of tea
so special to get to meet in real life!
Nanette’s talisman stitched into the dream

  1. Liz A says:

    It fairly glows …

  2. deemallon says:

The materials ALONE weave a spell

  3. Marti says:

Protection, power of symbols, purple pull to the heart with the softness and flow at the bottom of the talisman. What pulls me so strongly from this talisman is the embroidered aboriginal symbol for meeting place for we who Dream of a World Where Love is the Answer meet here, sharing and connecting and that is strong magic.

  4. grace Maestas says:

this just makes me SO happy…to “see” you and Nanette sitting together, face to face….how just
    so great…..I love you both….

  5. Martine says:

    Such a beautiful talisman…………..

  6. Nancy says:

Rumi – There is a field

    Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
    I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.

May we ALL come to the meeting place and join hands together. This is such a lovely tactile expression. Thank you for showing us.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Nancy))) the many hands that are making this dream come alive, after Nanette left I was looking at Reaching for the Stars and realized that they are part of The Gathering! I will stitch them into the tulle of the train with the hands reaching towards the “waist” of the iron dress form (will draw this soon) & all the pennants trailing out & up from the stars to the ceiling! No wonder I couldn’t work out a good way to hang them, was sketching up all sorts of ways framing or suspending them but nothing felt right because the solution was right there all the time like the elephant in the room!

  7. nettyg says:

Thankyou Mo for your wonderful hospitality yesterday….and the cake! It was so magical to see and touch the amazing work of the other Gatherers…such a privilege to be part of it all. x

  8. Tina says:

So much love and symbolism. A treasure of form and color. So fun knowing that you two got to visit and how you came to know one another..small world

  9. shemann says:

such a wonderful addition to your tree! how are you? I have gotten behind on things due to so much pain in my hands, stitching on my flag slowly! lol

  10. Love and magic are what this talisman is made of…
