may you have a suitably Silly Season, a magic Solstice & wonder-filled New Year!
Michael Leunig is a national treasure, his cartoons have kept me almost sane for nearly 50 years!

same to you Mo!
(((Susan))) time to let this old year go!
Mo I sent this to you and Rod in an email but I would like to share this old Celtic Winter Solstice Blessing with all who come here: In light of your “I Dream of a World where Love is the Answer” project; in light of the year we have had here in the United States and in light of the fact that those of us who come here, seek connection and find it::..
“Deep peace of the running waves to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the shades of night to you.
Moon and stars always giving light to you.”
(((Marti))) you shine, thank you for these beautiful Solstice words!
Oh Mo…I Love this! You for 50 years and me the first time today! May this year’s solstice bring what we all need so much.
Marti~ As always I treasure the words/feelings you share with all of us clothmates 🙂
(((Nancy)))
Happy Solstice Mo!
(((Dana))) it’s our first day of being as Silly as possible for the Season, with the next 11 days off in a row to explore the endless possibilities of doing very little except having fun, to begin am rereading one of my favourite books of all time, “Rock n Roll Babes from Outer Space” by Linda Jaiven a wonderfully mad view of our neighbourhood back in the mid 90’s when there was more artists, poets, musicians & oddballs per square foot than any place I have ever lived!
That sounds glorious! Wish I was there.
(((Dana))) so do I! the wild things are getting pushed out in the steady gentrification of Newtown which is good for the old houses as they were all crumbling like our old lady of a house but the flip side is artists are good at finding the next wild place to be & then the next & then the next… keeps us dancing!
PS it’s still one of the funniest books I have ever read, worth getting hold of a copy second hand
Happy Solstice to you and Old Man Crow !!!
(yes : LOVE those Michael Leunig cartoons, since you showed me …)
(((Els)))
Love your work Mo, and Leunigs!!!……OXOX
(((Marg))) the three toed sloth in a Santa Hat card is a beauty, purrfect for switching down to low gear now & slowing right down
Mo – Merry Christmas and Healthy Happy New Year to you and Mr Crow. The cartoon is great! Would he/she be considered a “Thread Head?!”
(((Susan))) he is now and so are we!
Happy Solstice and Merry New Year to you, dear Mo!
(((Heather)))
Dear Mo, your spirit and creations glow with so much inner light! ox
(((Hazel))) Day 4 of our 11 days off in a row & it’s Xmas Day!
My two favorite things: beauty and humor, a great way to celebrate solstice! Your work continues to amaze and awe me with it’s perfection – I do really mean that. At least, it’s perfect to my eye. And the visual humor of this cartoon – I love it! I’m going to have to look this up! Best to you always, and a wonderfully blessed new year! xo
(((Sharmon))) Day 5 of our 11 days off in a row, just saw the Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Age show at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, astounding to see these old paintings from the 17thC glowing with such deep light, my favourites were the vanitas paintings.
maybe all who are stitched together will form a cloth to hold the world together…anyway, happy holy days.
(((Velma))) The Gathering is happening magic is afoot!
