“The Gathering”
Gathering through the web are a community of stitchers like me, deep listening women from around the earth making strong threads singing
‘I dream of a world where love is the answer”
The rusted steel dress form fit through the front door, the branch is the right size, the wok resting on the legs inside the body of the form is the mold for the egg shell vessel that the branch will grow out of
now that all the pieces are in the house I will draw it to scale and start working!
Liz Ackert’s pennant is here, Dee Mallon’s is on it’s way and Judy Lemezis has sent the first talisman of love for our beautiful broken world
2018 will fly!
Gathering the Dreams
I want to write a better statement & rebuild this blog over the holiday break to clarify where this work is going and to honour everyone who has gathered for love of our beautiful broken world
I raise a glass to toast all you brilliant women
magic is afoot!

By the magic of Australia Post, your card of Honesty has arrived, thankyou. All the best and bright seasonal wishes back to you and old Man Crow. x

  2. Yvette says:

Mo……words flew away ( i was writing here but it vanished) but it’s maybe too much i tried to say.
    “ honesty”
You and old man crow are loved….as gathering dreams

  3. shemann says:

oh Mo, how wonderful! so very exciting to see it take shape, I have been in the gathering stages
and assembly is set for January.

  4. shemann says:

I love the artwork on your walls, the bird skeleton is fascinating!

  5. Marti says:

Mo, yes, Magic is afoot but it began from the deep well spring of your creativity, from your desire to reach across land, sea, sky and seek a way for so many of us to feel the connection to place, to hope, to peace, to inspiration and most of all to Love. Thank you for your inspiration, for your and Rod’s commitment to the Arts, for your huge heart that is so inclusive and because it is, I Dream of A World Where Love is the Answer, is a gift to not only our planet but to all of us who heard Rod’s song, who felt your encouragement and the commitment of you both, to do what we can, together…and thank you for the treasure of your Christmas card.

Dreaming a world where love is the answer – a gathering of ideas and folks with a commitment to that purpose. Your most beautiful Christmas card with my ever favorite “honesty” arrived here in Montana in our cold winter month of December and the warmth of your art and words filled my heart with such blessings.
Thank you today for the wonderful photo of your home with the beginnings of the structure for the dreaming project set forth for us all to see. It is such an honor to have in my studio a piece from the wedding dress, now gathering itself into the dream imagined as stitch, cloth, and words from friends are taking root in my vision. Talisman and pennant are coming alive with dreams of a world where love is the answer.

(((Kristin))) thank you so much for being here, the energy of this circle is glowing with good vibes & am so happy the dress form actually fit through the front door!

  7. Susan says:

Always nice to visit with you
Blessings to you and the Mister

Seeing the dress form “cage”, the branch, the sketch….its wonderful to feel the energy gathering as your piece takes shape. I am so excited to be a part of it. I have been dragging my feet a little lately because I am worried about waxing my pennant, but as soon as Christmas is over I will gather my wits and have at it. I received your most beautiful card yesterday and have placed it prominently so everyone can enjoy it. It is my favorite of all the cards you have shared and I am honored. My best wishes to you and Rod for a very happy Christmas.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Dana))) I look forward to seeing how your beautiful dream evolves! I waited til Artsite Gallery closed yesterday for the xmas break to get the dress form down from the ceiling in the storage room at the back of the gallery, it just fit through the front door with about 1mm to spare, stoked that I can work on it in the comfort of the lounge room not out in the garden under tarps!

      • deemallon says:

Mo! That branch! That cage! Your schematic! I, too, can’t wait to see how you apply your considerable skills across media to this project. So there’s that: the tangible. And then there’s the intangible/energetic: the spell you invite so many of us to cast. You are a treasure. Thank you for the delicate and yet powerful card. I’m going to frame it for my blue bathroom! Merry Christmas to you and to Rod.

  9. Liz A says:

Thinking how the word “gather” has such strong ties to cloth and bookmaking …

  10. fiberels says:

    Love this beginning, Mo !!!
(mine will still take a while ! Hope that’s okay …)

  11. Nancy says:

Mo~ This is all so magical…your vision, his voice…the gathering of many! Gathering is a word I use in my work documentation a lot. It conveys so much depth of feeling and intention to me. So we (children and caregivers) ‘gather’ together to play, explore, make art, read and sing and practice spinning the dreidel for the first times! It is a word of community, which is exactly what you two are doing here!
My cloth has been quietly waiting next to me as I stitched and sent off two Christmas stockings. Now, as 2017 comes to a close, I will turn some of my focus towards cloth and talisman creating.
As I write this phrase pops into my head (have I done this before?)…”It’s a nice day for a white wedding…it’s a nice day to start again…” May we all carry ourselves, each other and this world into a brilliant 2018!
