Book of Honesty I Mo 17
graphite and ink on Moulin de Larroque handmade watercolour paper, stitched Lunaria pods
Exquisite Mo, so delicate and fragile. And beautiful.
(((Cathy))) x fingers those seeds will grow!
stirs in me memories of gathering lunaria pods in my Grandmother’s back yard gardens…ever so long ago…thanks for stirring the hidden story
(((Kristin))) when I stitched Honesty last year I hadn’t seen any in real life since I was a kid (Sydney summers are way too hot & humid for it to grow well here) so I asked some friends living in the mountains to keep an eye out and my house is now full of dried bunches, such a magic plant!
Everything you turn your hand to becomes magical. And, this theme – Honesty – so potent and right for the times we are living in dear Mo.
Love the transparency and simplicity of your creation, Mo. I have tried to grow these with no success at all- as you say, the humidity gets them!
& the florists don’t bother with it these days, have given seeds to a friend in Lawson, it grows like a weed up in the Blue Mountains & Southern Highlands
Your drawing looks more real than the real thing …
stitching the plant into the flat plane of the page distorts it’s nature
