I am not surprised Mo. I meant to make a comment when you posted them before framing. They are exquisite. I love how beautifully you combined 2-D drawing with 3-d objects from nature. Not an easy thing to do.
thanks Susan, Line Dancing and Crow Eye Amulet XI were free standing at the Crow Show but didn’t quite cut it so I stitched them to 425 gsm Saunders Waterford H/P watercolour paper, the tendril borders are pen & ink & Madeleine framed them beautifully
WoooHoo and more to come dear wonderful artist of the inexplicable!
(((Michelle))) it’s the Silly Season here in the Land Down Under!
Love how your top echoes Crow Eye Amulet XI … and your smile!
(((Liz))) ’twas such a buzz!
Onya Mo, they sure do look beautiful in the frames. Lovely to see your smiling face too! OX
(((Marg))) Madeleine is a treasure she takes my funny dream things and turns them into proper jobs
yay!
this has been the best year ever for the art making and yet these are the darkest days for our beautiful planet and our freedom…
they are beautiful in the frames, I mean sometimes you need a frame to complete the piece, don’t you think?
I have a love/hate relationship with framing, the way it distances the work from the viewer. I prefer the amulets & stitched cloth to be free to be held as the haptic sense is important but these two didn’t really work at the Crow Show on plinths under perspex, paradoxically by framing these pieces Madeleine has made them more tangible!
Exactly how i feel about textile works. I dont like them framed.
cloth and stitch needs to be held to be read with the fingertips
Congratulations! Beautiful pieces of art
thanks Sarah, in these strange days for our planet making art is more important than ever!
Oh and i forgot………….you have the most most beautiful smile………………………
(((Martine))))
You & your creations look so very swell!
it’s been the best year ever for the art making which makes a good balance for dealing with all the strangeness that’s happening to our beautiful broken world
amen
Congratulations! You look beautiful, as does your fantastically elegant work!
(((Sharmon))) what a year!
