“All of us are in the gutter
Some of us are looking at the stars.”
The Pretenders Message of Love (1981) (quoting Oscar Wilde)

Jude Hill is taking our circle of cloth conjurors from all around the world on a journey with her exploration of SunMoonStars, diving ever deeper, making magic real…

  1. dinahmow says:

Pure whimsy! I love these, Mo. Thank you for a smiley start to my day.

  2. Els says:

Ha, ha, ha, Mo these are soooo funny !!!
    (ánd beautiful !)

  3. I love the humour in these. Such wonderful materials.

    • Mo Crow says:

isn’t it funny how just stitching these amulets onto a piece of paper makes them “work”, that’s one of the best things about exhibiting, finding out what work still needs that extra push to make it connect out in the real world… & they need framing… something I really don’t like doing because the frame takes the work out of the day to day…

  4. coloremartine says:

Looking at the stars because there’s no moon tonight…………………

  5. Liz A says:

Until the moon comes back to play …

  6. You already know I love these creatures…the playfulness of them…and your line on the paper of course is superior…You might hate it but I think they belong in shadow boxes. Flashed back tho where I was not when Chrissie Hynde peaked with the Pretenders. But we’re both still around (of course she’s a lot younger and she and the Pretenders put out a new album “Alone” October 21st (I did not)….https://youtu.be/JStKEEujtIw

  7. handstories says:

I’ve been quiet lately, but I’ve been here, enjoying your starry thoughts & the wonder you create & share.

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Hazel))) I read this in Robert MacFarlane’s “Landmarks” yesterday-
“Considering the verb to consider, he reminds us that it comes from the Latin con-siderare, and this carries a meaning of ‘to study or see with the stars.”

  8. jude says:

these are like 3d line drawings. i love the dark of them,

  9. Carol says:

Oh, these make me so happy, Mo! What a sure touch you have. ((((Mo))))
