bleak bucketing rain with blustering wind
a tendril cypher Mo 16
Certainly is bleak- one of our trees has lost a huge branch and it’s now hung up over the house. Think we might sleep downstairs tonight!
good idea! this old house has faired surprisingly well except the upstairs bedroom window just started leaking a little with the wind coming from the north, needs some more spakfilla as there’s not much wood left in the sill if it ever dries out… feels like it will never stop raining…
We had more than a week of raging gales and rain coming in from the west and now we’re having a week of cold, crystal clear sunny days . . . well worth washing the salt off the windows.
Love the tendrill.
oh gosh, a week of rain & gales … I don’t know if I could cope, I get stir crazy in the rain… just walked up to King St to get some food, got soaked but feel much better for it & ta for the encouragement with the tendril cyphering, it’s a good distraction whilst waiting for the Crow Books to get back from the printer (x fingers this week) as it will take 2 months to do the hand colouring, only three months to go!
& here I am wishing for rain! Think it was 80 here today, hotter tomorrow & we’re driving over the mountains for the day to where it’s 100! There are not enough ughs.
Your cyphering tickles me with all of its tiny details.
thanks for the word picture of languid hot sunny days Hazel, it’s so very soggy here, the rain is easing off at last this morning but the house is full of wet clothes waiting their turn to dry in front of the heater, the good thing about the rain is we get a gardener’s day off today, feels like we’re playing hookie!
“Bleak” is such a fine word, if not so fine and experience. Puts me in mind of the song though you have no snow: https://youtu.be/no-zZKAxw4g
Ta Michelle, I love Grateful Dead’s Box of Rain for these wet days
i am sending SUN with all my might. But…really, didn’t the seasons just FLY this year? …one
into the next so so fast? Soon it will be me bemoaning all the additional clothing when
right in this moment as close to naked as i can be….
tendrils….could sing a song about tendrils
learning the tendril tune one note at a time
Your tendril is so beautiful, Mo! Delicate and tough at the same time.
But the bleakness of the weekend was awful. Driving rain, high winds, leaking roof… However, we also had a roaring fire, watched three Shrek movies and Willy Wonka with 6 children, 2 dogs and 3 adults. And now it seems the rain has stopped and my garden has survived. So life’s good!
gardener’s day off today, feels like we’re playing hookie!
