Very special exhibition Mo !
I can imagine why these little cloth birds appeal to you 😉
Love your drawings with the poems (lyrics)
Glen’s dark birds are so perfect, the muslin blackened by cleaning his etching plates wrapped over a simple form of scrunched aluminium held together with sewing pins
Interesting…………..
such a beautiful poet, Glen forges words as well as materials into perfect insights here’s a quote from late last year about his new work A Fable in Brief –
“A fable in brief is simply an extended description of what metaphor accomplishes. It avoids saying ‘this’ stands for ‘that’ and allows meaning to remain unfixed. This fluidity is also a displacement, one thing substituted for another. Metaphor like collage is always a disturbance, an enigmatic disturbance. It’s illusiveness registers more poignantly what remains absent.”
Your crows and my croc……….in my hands again and i cannot stop looking……….
Glen works such a fine deep vein of magic
Amazing work you must have been in your element all those dark birds.
it is and I was and still buzzing!
Sometimes, when I visit your blog Mo, I feel like Alice disappearing down a rabbit hole to find wonder-full things . . .
looking forward to seeing Johnny Depp in “Alice through the Looking Glass” in 3D, this 21st C world made me laugh watching the trailer this morning with Grace Slick singing Alice, feed your head!
Oh no, I missed the show. I’ll keep an eye out in future.
you still have a chance, the last port of call for the Mytho-Poetic tour is at Maitland Regional Gallery June 11-August 28
Thanks Mo, I couldn’t find a gallery list anywhere. Was there a catalogue?
There is a catalogue for $5 but do try to get up to Maitland, it’s such a beautifully cohesive & deeply inspiring body of work
I will try, but my default is I have someone nearby who can go along if I can’t make it.
This post is a poem, thank you!
Glen is one of the best artists working in Australia & such a gentle soul, still buzzing from being there
Thank you for a wonderful visit, Mo. Glen is amazing! I love his dark birds…
was so good to see his work in real life at last!
