(this will be the third visit in 6 months)
front-doorswept and cleaned the windows out the front

clean-windowgot all the spider webs out of the lace on the dining room window
kitchen-windowand the kitchen window
clean-mirrorthe bathroom mirror is sparkling
gardenswept and trimmed the garden
viewit’s taken 7 years and 3 months to almost obscure the view across the back lane from the bedroom window
so x fingers we will get to stay here til at least October
Artsite Gallery is a 2 minutes walk away
and it would be so good not to have to move before the Crow Show!

Would your landlady repair the house or have it demolished?

    • Mo Crow says:

she will sell when her very old aunt in the nursing home shuffles off this mortal coil, I’m guessing with all these visits that will happen in the not too faraway…

  2. Eliene says:

Your home looks wonderful & hopefully your landlady will see how much you love it and wouldn’t want anybody else to live in it. My wish for you is that she wants to keep you there and that she is not ready to sell it. BTW your little wishbone sculpture looks amazing…love it!!! Is Rod in town for long & would we have time to meet up with him & have a coffee do you think…or is he just too busy, busy, busy. We can go to him.

    • Mo Crow says:

Rod went down for 24 hours to get the drums recorded on 14 tracks (he’s in the music room now with the headphones on) and helped Dave and Ange in their garden (they have a house in Reservoir) as a contra deal, a flying visit, it’s all happening! am going to make a wishing bowl with those five wishbones, painted them with Porter’s popcorn white chalk emulsion, letting the paint cure for a day, will knot it together tomorrow

  3. margaret johnson says:

Good luck with the house Mo! Is that your van out front? We have a beaten up old 1982 Mitsz Van. Mike manages to keep it going, he’s a bloody good mechanic. cheers ox

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Marg))) gosh keeping an 82 model going that’s amazing, Mike’s a motor magician! that’s our van, it’s a 2002 model and is still going OK but will need to find another one after the Crow Show, there’s a bit of rust and the motor works hard with all the stop-start madness of inner city driving, our lovely mechanic who has helped us find & maintain the last three vans has retired & started a lawn mowing business!

  4. How intrusive to have her visit so often! I hope you don’t have to move, it looks like a place full of character and charm. I especially like your studio.

    • Mo Crow says:

it’s a worry Sarah, we love this beautiful old lady of a house, have done a lot of repairs at our own cost to keep her standing & dry(ish) but the rent is affordable! have lived in nearly 50 houses in my 61 years on the planet & Old Man Crow has led a gypsy life as well so we are good at moving but this is the best house ever & we will miss her!

  5. Judy Martin says:

Your home looks so interesting. I can see why you want to stay there. xo

    • Mo Crow says:

Old Man Crow will be 69 this year, I will be 61, and Ariel P. Cat is 16. Our house is about 130 years old, the last time she was renovated was in the mid 70’s, we’re a good match but she is worth close to a million dollars as is, the gentrification of the inner cities is happening worldwide, good for the houses as they get a second lease on life but hard on gentle folk of diminished means!

      • Especially if you want to live in the city . . . I’ve gone from living in Bangkok to Tokyo to a small beachside suburb of a town of 6000 . . . I like to say I’ve gone from the ridiculous to the sublime and I hope your ‘sublime’ is waiting for you where ever you choose to go.

        • Mo Crow says:

thanks Wendy, we have no savings so I’m not sure how I am going to materialize this dream boat maybe with some magic like Howl’s Moving Castle, which I loved ditto Spirited Away, thanks for the heads up!

  6. Yes, I’m echoing the wish that you can stay however if you do have to move, that you quickly find somewhere equally interesting . . . a house with good bones and a warm heart.

    • Mo Crow says:

would love another 5 years here til I’m old enough for the pension then we can become grey nomads and float along the rivers in the houseboat of my dreams!!

  7. Hoping and praying with you. Make a pot of strong tea and spike it with rum to offer her. And at the least you will have it for yourself. I marked Thursday for a votive candle lighting

  8. fiona says:

I have fingers AND toes crossed for you too Mo – and for October and well beyond. I am in awe of the cobweb-free zone and the dazzling windows and mirror – wow!

  9. grace says:

at LEAST October…. prayers in the prayer basket, candles lit, an October for Mo flag
streamer flying on the Raft….at least. at least till October

    • Mo Crow says:

(((Grace))) as my old friend Pete (plant shaman extraordinaire who moved to Brazil to save the rainforest back in the 70’s and is still there) said so long ago-
“Spirit likes to see us dance on the shifting sands of change”

  10. Liz says:

May your heart-felt wishes come true …

  11. fiberels says:

Thanks for letting us visit too 😉
(hope your wish comes true, Mo !)

  12. Julie Banks says:

My fingers and toes are crossed for you as well, Mo- I’m glad you’re so philosophical about moving- we have lived in the same place now for 44 years and have accumulated so much stuff I think it would be a major operation to go anywhere else! Hopefully you’ll be able to stay till at least October and find somewhere as compatible as this gorgeous old lady of a house was! xxx

  13. Tilly says:

A beautyful cozy clean house. New moments, new beginning.
Thank you for having shared. The Blue Cats Heaven and Rod’s Shed, Mo

Much inspiration and creation i wish you.

    X Tilly

  14. Tilly says:

🍀May you live as long as you wish in this house and garden🍀

  15. coloremartine says:
