He sang my teenage.
I was a young American but Cracked Actor from Aladdin Sane is still my favourite!
Diamond Dogs and the early 80s were strictly my era, but I have two much older brothers so he was really the soundtrack of my whole life (along with Zappa and Joni Mitchell). Explains quite a lot really 🙂
Billy the Mountain (Ethel was a tree growing off of his shoulder) is still a favourite by Frank Zappa and everything by Joni gets played here a lot, along with Lou Reed’s Transformer, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, Islands by King Crimson, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Leonard Cohen, Roxy Music… the list goes on… music… I fell in love with music & the magicians who play it and still am even at 60!
Hey Mo – very precious and beautiful … What a passing…. Yes, fly free star man.
he rocked our world
Yeh – ours too and still will :))))
“Fly free Star Man” is all I can say at the moment. What a truly beautiful tribute you made for him, Mo! Sad you weren’t able to give it to him…
we had a good chance, Michael Chugg was an old friend of Lee’s!
He had style.
always an elegant being
Lovely tribute Mo. So sad. I do love his last album, esp the Lazurus track. We are never too old to be rocked by beautiful music. I’m nearly 68 and still moved by the beautiful, fabulous music and lyrics of Tom Waits. ox
the video for Lazarus is so brave
Elegant is a very good word for him. I wish he could have held this, but very glad we are able to gaze at it…love the tiny beads of glass on the edges. Even in glass your work is full of exquisite details.
(((Cindy))) the elegant theatre of getting his farewell album out on his birthday on Friday then leaving this mortal coil with such grace, a good death
beautiful
it was!
