the battle of the dust bunnies

Posted: April 25, 2015 by Mo Crow in It's Crow Time

vacuumThe real estate agent is doing a routine house inspection on Tuesday for the first time in 2 & 1/2 years so we are busy battling the dust bunnies with the help of a brand new Hoover with lights that catch the little devils out as they attempt to retreat and rotating brushes in the head that are sucking up more things than I like to think about out of all the nooks and crannies. We had let things slide quite a bit in the last little while (time flies) so our old lady of a house is really enjoying getting spruced up both inside and out! doorplease come in & have a look around lounge-posterinsideoffice-space-2dining-roomstairs-2 dining-room-table clean-window-2 clean-window kitchenwill post more pics tomorrow after we tidy up the upstairs and the garden!

    That’s what I call “lived-in eclecticism.”

  2. I miss having an old house with all its idiosyncrasies . . . open this window but not that one, avoid the left side of the hallway at night or you’ll wake everyone, the rattling window weights that tell you the earthquake is a big one and you need to take shelter.

we love our old lady of a house & will be sad to leave when the landlady decides to cash in, we are just about the last ungentrified house in this street…

      • I sold my old-lady house when I went overseas to live for a number of years rather than leave her in the hands of tennants . . . the plumbing was a disaster waiting to happen (wait for the rust to finish coming through before you put the plug in the bath), the chimney was unsafe and needed removing and half the sash windows didn’t function safely. If I hadn’t sold I wouldn’t be living by the sea and listening to it murmuring away . . . I’d be blessed either way.

I’ve been chasing dust bunnies myself. Darn they are difficult little things. Fun to see your space. 🙂

Lovely house, Mo, and filled with lovely and meaningful things. Thank you for the visit!

  6. Julie Banks says:

Your house is like a treasure trove! I’m sure the inspection people will appreciate the lack of dust bunnies!

Oh what fun to have this tour… never mind my question about whether inspection was routine or not… sometimes reading backwards makes for useless comments! All of your precious objects speak so much to your sense of the divine in daily living… and I adore your patched-up couch!!
