The Full Moon
old woodcut print of unknown provenance on the front cover of “The Lunar Almanac” by Rosemary Ellen Guiley 1991
As I was leaving the city last night it came up over the Orongorongo Range, so big and fat and round . . . glowing . . . splendid! There’s a little bit, or a lot, of magic knowing that we all marvel at the same small miracle.
love the thought of all the women being influenced by the moon encircling the world, one of my favourite images is this wonderful old woodcut
(just scroll down to the second image in the link)
PS just put the old woodcut pic in this post too because I love it so much!
Even through the trees the moon lit up my bedroom so that I had to go out to get a better look. Just stunning. I too, love knowing this same moon is shining on us all.
feeling very flighty!
Clouds obscured our full moon this month … and with so few in our lives (really, when you count them it’s stunning), I’m glad to see it shining in the land down under.
At least I got a peek at the waning gibbous moon last night as it rose up through the trees …
’tis a wild one!
Happy full moon to you, Mo; it was a very bright one here!
still feeling it very strongly have been making some very bold and wild gestures on the next crow song drawing will see if they worked when the sun comes up!
Beautiful moon and I love the illustration too! I only got the moon the night before…
you have had a lot of rain of late!
We have been camping at Grassy Head and it was wonderful to experience this moon in a sky that was not artificially lit!
it’s amazing how different the sky looks without the city lights
