    As usual, so much detail and meaning to parse out. I really like the sense of big black space through and behind the bier (is that the right word?) Do the cages release the soul?

      the cage of hearts next to the bier is where she kept her collection of “another heart as payment in part for some imagined debt” perhaps they will be released by her visitor now that she has passed, her soul bird is hovering above her third eye in preparation for moving on to the afterlife
