Balancing the lights and darks for a couple of days helped define the 7 feathers on the LHS and the edges of the steampunk crow then extending the rays of candlelight pulled it all together. The scanning & virtual stitching process only took a quarter of the time this morning, by song no 5 I’ll be fully in the zone!

  2. Liz says:

It’s amazing how the details jump out of the negative … and what a perfect font.
It is magical watching this unfold!

Have been grinning from ear to ear all day, spent a few hours poking round the internet this afternoon trying to source good quality double sided matte inkjet paper at about 140 gsm (40lb) & found what looks close to perfect at Red River in the US but the postage to Australia is $100!

  3. jude says:

exciting Mo! postage is a bitch isn’t it?

  4. Carol says:

Keep grinning! This is stunning! (((Mo)))

    ahhhhh…… ox

    • Mo Crow says:

there’s a little more tweaking to do have to add 4mm of black to the LHS and take it off the right + convert the image to greyscale so the printing will be more affordable but it’s there & feels amazing! found what I hope is a good quality matte double sided 160 gsm paper today at the local art and office supply shop it looks perfect, about to do a test print!
PS a bit later the matte paper is brilliant, Candlelight looks amazing printed in B&W at 12″ x 24″, now it’s time for some dragonfly drawing before the Bower Bird Blues workshop which begins this Friday, what an amazing year and it’s not even a week old!

  6. margaret johnson says:

Really glad you found some good paper locally ox

    • Mo Crow says:

Thanks Jane, I am so excited about the Bower Bird Blues workshop up on Mount Tambourine, we can bring along one blue thing to talk about and I am having a bit of a hard time deciding which one!

  8. Susan C says:

Candlelight looks wonderful, Mo. That splicing stuff is tedious work, but the only way I know to do it too. Turned out beautifully!
