North-pointerOld Man Crow’s iPhone has a compass so true north is marked and the repairs are done for now!

The vintage black lace was a gift from my friend Eliene St Romain, the owl is a linocut printed on the most wonderfully heavy canvas from our friend Dotti Dauter & I turned it into a cushion with a luxurious piece of 30 year old black velvet from Germany that I used for photographing the glass engraving last century.

    love the red patches

  2. handstories says:

LOVE THIS! We’ve got such spots on our couch, with blankets tucked all around them, but your method of owning it all is so much better. A new way to be surrounded by story!

    • Mo Crow says:

I really enjoy these ongoing mending projects as a good way to let go of the year, Old Man Crow’s old denim jacket is ready to rock, the voodoo lounge is just about finished for now and next week I want to seal up that hole in the ceiling over my workbench with a 50/50 mix of PVA so I can move my work table back under the window and keep the exposed wood and plaster with some freeform spider webbing in string and linen thread to integrate the space. The roof repair worked, the walls are drier that they have ever been in the 6 years we have lived here even after a week of rain Oh Hooray!

  4. Carol says:

What wonderful collaborative art you and Ariel make. The Voodoo Lounge is very cool and obviously there will be more to be done to it with time. I’m so pleased to hear the roof mending has worked. With the rain we’ve had, I was wondering… Great news!

  5. I like what you and Ariel have done with the decor, here… both cozy and creative!

    • Mo Crow says:

Ariel has some good ideas! funny how he has left the first two patches covering the corners of both arms, they must be “right” in terms of “catiquette”!

  6. saskia says:

fantastic (ongoing) up-cycling of this sofa, hail to you and your cat

a dry house: what a relief that must be

    • Mo Crow says:

time to let Ariel make the next move & I am revelling in having the dry house still considering the possibilities for sealing the corner yet keeping the integrity of the hole and peeling paint… hope to get started tomorrow!

  7. Dana says:

What an inspired response to Ariel’s environmental manipulations! Together you make the space your own. The delicacy of the black lace combines so well with the graphic red felt.
Congratulations on the success of the roof repair. That must feel very good.

  8. Heather says:

Interspecies art making! I love such collaborations – yours is particularly successful. And you can all curl up together on it at the end of the day!

  9. emilysuzanna says:

I love the mending you’ve been doing…my collaborator is my dog Gilly…you’ve given me some ideas for the couch pillows…she doesn’t approve of the corners…she likes a more rounded look…aha, this is good.

  10. deemallon says:

way cool… such a fabulous way to adapt!
