I love seeing them on the bushy roadsides in the Royal National Park. They seem to glow with an inner light yet they are so soft and quite solid close up. Always one of my favourites, I wish I could grow them but so far haven’t been successful. Maybe it’s better to see them in their natural habitat…
Beautiful photo Mo
it’s my favourite flower full of the essence of summer sun and the beach!
they are so soft
love how they feel like the softest flannel, I try not to touch them too much!
so perfect.
it’s time to draw this one again
here’s a link to two earlier versions xmas 1999 & xmas 2002
Great photo Mo! One of my favourite flowers too. Love the texture and the green tips.
thanks Julie let’s try to catch up over the Silly Season!
I’d love to Mo, it’s been too long! xxx
seems like they must have an affiliation with the moon?
They are sun lovers that thrive in well drained sandy soil near the beach, a fun in the sun, surf & sand sort of plant!
not a moon flower at all then!
the 1999 xmas card version was very much a fantasy!
After doing a Google search for information and images I appreciate the artfulness of your photo all the more … beautiful!
thanks Liz, a deceptively simple flower

I love how they are so tough out in the wild and yet so fussy in the garden!
