That scroll was shown at Artspace (Libris Awards?)It was variously supposed by viewers to be a chimney stack, an old canon and a telescopic housing for something!
I love the scale and the bold simplicity of the binding!
Congratulations Mo! Your work is exquisite !
thanks for coming along Dotti!
Congratulations on the sales…& it is only early days. Looks like a great exhibition space.
thanks Eliene, it’s a great space and love how Madeleine set the work up in the case!
Mo your display is stunning, the talismans and amulet, long delicate strands set next to simple, earthy paper bags with the description of each gives such an organic feel to the whole setting. Under glass with light shining, the display showcases the wonder and beauty of each piece…congratulations for the three already sold.
thanks Marti, Madeleiene the gallery owner weaves good magic with her fine sense of order and colour, the whole show hangs together beautifully.
Looks like the opening was well-attended … I’m sure the display case drew many and it’s great to hear that three have already found new homes (though it’s sad in a way that they will be separated)
thanks Liz, they got lots of good feedback and I saved drinking the glass of champagne ’til right at the end so I could just float home!
i knew it would be a great success. congratulations.
still floating!
YES!!!
it works!
All right! The display of your pieces is inspired. Congratulations!
Thanks Dana!
They are whooshing away…hooray! Lovely display, love the bags. I’m assuming their stories are on them? Very clever.
Hi Cindy yes each paper bag has the title, it’s talismanic property and materials listed , the display works so well!
What a lovely idea, so glad that there is such interest!
Looks like a great show; congrats on the sales!
thanks Sharmon it’s a buzz & I’m still grinning days later! Madeleine has just updated the website so you can see all the work here
Just had a happy time looking at all the entries. Some wonderful art there but I’m most looking forward to seeing yours, Mo! Next week…
Hi Carol look forward to meeting you there, this week it’s open Wednesday to Sunday til the 7th then just the weekends of the 13th-14th & 20th-21st OK?
I’m sure your gorgeous necklaces will be snapped up! It must be very gratifying to show them among such impressive works. . . where they belong.
having a good relationship with a gallery is so important, Madeleine is a good friend and discerning yet gentle critic.
