we all selected our favourite shells on the last day to take home as mementos
and gave the rest back one by one in thanks to the sea
hoping everyone else caught better photos of the delicious birthday pies and the many spontaneous bursts of chicken dancing, we all played nicely and had a lot of fun!

& the weather was perfect ! the first day was full on rain, the drive from my mom’s place in Cary out to Ocean Isle took a long time as visibility was negligible but for the rest of the week there was lightning out to sea and cloud in the mornings and evenings to enhance the sunset and sunrise colours and beautiful sunny days, very lucky!

Ukeleles just keep going! and isn’t there something lovely about a collection being “placed” with intent? “just” a strip along the verandah – looks so lovely, perfect for it to be ephemeral

Welcome home! This looks idyllic! Relax Enjoy is great advice, we should do more of it where ever we are. Your sand dollar sketch is beautiful and I look forward to your stitching pics.

  4. Wow- looks like the perfect family vacation, to me. Love the shell collection, and especially the sand dollar story!
