this is song no 27 in The Illustrated Lyrics of Old Man Crow only 13 to go!
The drawings will be finished by early 2015 then it’s just editing and setting the text, making the books, getting all the songs recorded and it will be ready to launch as a book & CD set in 2016.
NB I love this song, Old Man Crow promises he will get it recorded very soon!

  1. deanna7trees says:

    magnificent drawing.

  2. It’s lovely and spare. I really like the loneliness of the overall picture. All this is making me long for the time to just sit and draw.

    • Mo Crow says:

Thanks Charlotte, the song is about that longing for the sea, the feel of sand on your feet when you’re stuck in a boring job in a scene that you don’t want to be in any more

    • Mo Crow says:

Thanks Debbie, it was really hard to photograph with all that white, the detail is all blurred… look forward to getting all these images scanned in 2015 and seeing how they print out!

  3. spiritcloth says:

    lovely pissed off starfish

  4. Martine Bos says:

    Judy Blue is wonderful……….
The total and the details. ………hmmm have to wait so long for the total.

    • Mo Crow says:

Hi Martine thanks for the good words, did the big image take a long time to load? or is it the dream of a sea change that is taking a long time to come true?

  5. Joan Turner says:

O i like these. especially the rolling surf.

  6. margaret johnson says:

Fabulous as ever Mo. Love that feather standing in the sand. Have seen that many times (usually sea-gulls). I miss the beach too, not for swimming, but walking very briskly. Used to walk from Brighton to St Kilda a few times a week, and clock up 40 K’s. Always at night. Looking forward to hearing this song. ox

    • Mo Crow says:

Will see if the Old Man Crow feels like recording this weekend the Gibson & amp have both had some work done on them in the last month and the sound is better than ever!

  7. nadia says:

Hi, Mo. Glad I found time to stop by. This drawing is so beautiful and the details are exquisite–the starfish is hilarious–Nice touch! Enjoyed the breath-taking glass pieces you’ve been showing. I particularly liked your comment a few posts back about how you “take pride in being remarkably unsuccessful artists”…I suppose this depends on how you define “success” because for me, you’re hugely successful. But, money-wise, you’re so right. My husband maintains he’s a philanthropist who supports the arts (and an artist). Lucky me!
Have a great holiday season with your loved ones!
    best, nadia

  8. karen says:

wow Mo, these are such wonderful pieces…..they take my breath away.

  9. Such a beautiful, delicate drawing! I love the surfing crow; can we teach them all to do this?

  10. Carol says:

Mo, you’ve captured the sea, the surfing crow, everything, just wonderfully.

  11. deedeemallon says:

this drawing is so open and spacious compared to some others, that I can’t wait to hear the song that inspired it.
