I enlarged this to see the beautiful definition of the barbs and the wear on the shaft. But I’d like to ask – what is clayboard?

    • Mo Crow says:

      Hi Diane
Parkers Art Supplies gave me a sample pack of the Ampersand Museum Series Panels & in their words-
Claybord is The Ultimate Multi-Media Panel- ultra smooth clay surface, archival & acid-free, our patented kaolin clay ground is applied to a non warrping premium hardboard and then sanded to a velvet finish that is very absorbent
It is all those things! it takes pencil, ink, watercolour and scratching very well April White introduced me to it through her fine bird works

  6. Eliene says:

To draw the crows as you do, it makes sense that you can draw just one of their feathers as purrfectly as you have….CAW…CAW…

Exquisitely beautiful, as always. You never fail to impress. ox

  8. Carol says:

Quite extraordinary, Mo! The detail is wonderful. The clay board is obviously the perfect medium for this. Must have a look at April’s birds.

Lovely… I love Claybord, though I don’t use it at all – its just not for watercolors. I’ve tried the Aquabord, but, not right for my technique. Blessings of feathers to you.

  12. Crow you did it………………perfectly……….and wonderful!
