nice evocation Mrs. Crow and the Mister has put that bar-room piano into a universal context. I love the “giving comfort to them all”, and ain’t that the truth! What a team!!!!
it’s a favourite the song, it was born on a wild night when the audience could have become hostile but ended up being totally transported by the music!
hmm…I see your “steam punk” raven and is that crow on the left mummified?
Hi Diane, the model for the one on the left is one of Glen Skein’s Mytho-Poetic crows that he kindly sold me last year. Had a lot of fun with this one!
Ah, yes! I should have guessed Glen.:-)
mmmm, looks like a Great place to visit, and the music is Ace! ox
Hi Margaret, thank for the good words!
At first look, I thought the owl was a pussy cat! (maybe cause I live with an owl-cat) ^:^
you do! he just came out that way I was thinking of a screech owl I met in the US at a county fair in Ohio last time I was there and then rememberd the baby bobook owl that I hatched from an egg rescued from a nest in a very old tree that had fallen down. “Owlie” lived for three weeks fed on chopped up bugs & frogs that the local kids gathered for me ’til one day a friend said he needed to eat meat with bones so I went to the butcher got some meat & bone chopped up very fine but he died the next day from a stomach ache… should have listened to my intuition & stuck with bugs & frogs!
Oh! What a sad story! Amazing that you hatched an owl, and yes, too bad you listened to someone else. 😦
What a gift you have…this makes me feel like the old European restaurants in the fancy sections of Buenos Aires, like I should be wearing a beret, smoking a Gitane, and nursing an absinthe…three things I have never done but maybe I should???
Oh I think it’s good to try everything at least once as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone hehe!
Great song, Mo, congratulations to you both. You and Rod are blessed with so much talent and I love that you are illustrating his songs like this. Your crows are stunning, as is the little owl.
thanks for the encouragement Carol the next drawing has me dithering at the edge of the pool but am just about to dive in with the New Moon in half an hour
I really like your drawings, Mo. Wonderful characters.
thanks for visiting Susan I am in awe of your stitching!
