Richard carved this moon and toggle from old bone & plaited the cord whilst teaching art to disadvantaged kids in New Zealand back in the 80’s & now it’s mine I feel so very lucky!

      Richard is brilliant, he has such a fine sense of line and attention to every detail, he is an artist by nature, a teacher by vocation, I feel so spoiled & am honoured to be his friend.

    and the string twining is another art in itself ..that loop and wrapping. much skill and attention.just the ‘right stone ‘……arh!

      I’ve been playing around with variations of that 4 strand twining technique ever since Richard gave it to me, it’s such a beautifully finished piece & has a great story behind it…
