Here’s the illustration for “Take a Ride” in process ( the song is here)
inspired by this video of a crow snowboarding & lots of old drawings of Old Man Crow in our windsurfing days
the lines feel wild and loose which is helped each morning by warming up with stitching on this next hopeful “Thing with Feathers
am exploring and extending the lines of this gorgeous piece of old lace from Margaret Johnson & look forward to feathering the fringe !

don’t know what to say about your drawing. it is always fabulous. and i love what you’re doing with that lace and those beautiful feathers.

  2. Oh mo…really expressive line there…….fine. and free.
This hopeful feather looks like a hat to me…though it probably won’t be one….but oh wouldn’t it be something! YOU could probably wear it well.

  3. margaret johnson says:

Oh Mo, your drawing is FANTASTIC! I Love it. Also love Rod’s song too. That snowboarding Crow, awesome. Your ‘Thing with Feathers” piece is just so lovely. Really love where you have taken that piece of old silk lace, oxoxox

    • Mo Crow says:

I want to try a little more ghosting of the pattern of the old lace with the silkworm thread but don’t want to overwhelm the delicacy… it’s teaching me so much about lightness and leaving air for the lace to breathe

  4. They are both beautiful Mo. I love the delicacy of the line you create, whether it is drawn or sewn. Greetings to you from our still wet and wild shores. I hope the world is treating you well.
    Love C xxx

    • Mo Crow says:

thanks Charlotte, it’s been a wild week energy wise since the Equinox last weekend and also it’s spring here in Sydney so we’ve been working hard in all the inner city courtyard gardens we look after getting them mulched & fertilized & ready for summer as you go into autumn!

  5. margaret johnson says:

P.S. Mo, I forgot to mention how much I love the scalloped edge and tassels you have made on the blue fabric, mirrowing the lace. Just beautiful. ox
