the yearning for Beauty

the drawing for “Beauty” is almost there (you can listen to the song here)
the song is all about the yearning for Beauty and so it was fitting that I had to set the drawing aside for a few weeks to attend to some life matters. I could see the drawing waiting on my drawing board but couldn’t touch it… life imitating art imitating life… and so it goes. Y’know I always have to take my metaphors so very literally to understand them fully & yes, it’s so very close to finished, I like this one. Thanks again to Jackie Morris for taking the great photo of Merlin the Raven in the Tower of London.

  2. seamless beauty…leaves you with questions

the song that was written all in one go one night back in the early 90’s,we were at a pub having a drink but his eyes were disappearing into the back of his head so I said “hey man just go home & write whatever needs to be got down” and he did & it was a beauty.

  3. Hey Mo–The eye POPS now, and the architectural lines seem both mysterious and mathematical. It’s got deeper somehow since last I looked. I’m thinking that a touch of red is possible, but only you know what is needed. You are the mother of this invention (yes a band reference from long ago)-so happy Mother’s day.

yes indeed Michele, I love your insights! each illustration will get just a hint of red added in about 3-4 years when all 40 songs are complete… this one is so close & yet so far… it needs a few swift bold moves & getting closer to seeing what they are…
