here’s the feather arrow for The Magic Feather Project with the line from Entropy
“love would send an arrow to your heart”
embroidered in rainbow thread using Jude Hill’s split back stitch
the tiny heart at the point of the arrow is appliqued from the finest red silk that Margaret Johnson sent along with the Blue Spirit Woman & her cat. The exquisite detail in her work is such an inspiration, that tiny medicine bag is only 7mm high, BSW is still too shy to have a close up photo taken to show off all the wonderful details, some beings just need a little time to settle in to the chaos here in Blue Cat Heaven. Her Blue Cat bead, the Blue Star and the fabulous Blue Tassle all just add to the magic.
Wonderful feather cloth!!
thanks for the good words Valerianna, it’s becoming a sampler of all the quilting stiches Jude Hill shows us in her Cloth Whispering Magic Diairies class
hi Mo, thanks for the pic, it all looks very colourful. if you do need more threads let me know,, i’ve got plenty to spare. by the way i know what you mean by getting starry-eyed over making stuff. i have to hold back constantly. still, it’s all good. i’ve been making stuff all my life and it’s always an issue for me. i just consider it as experience !!!! hehe. ox
your work is so exquisite Margaret, years ago when I was waiting a year to begin private lessons in how to engrave glass with the doyenne of glass engraving Anne Dybka she said I should find some really good engraved glass and examine it closely to understand how the surfaces are smoothed and the edges cut the light. Your Blue Spirit Woman is a perfect example of fine stitching you are truly a master or should I say mistress of the needle!
